Sue retired from her role as the Executive Director of the Aged Care Association Australia (NSW) in July 2006.

Professional Profile

Sue has been in the private health care sector for some 30 years and in that time has held a variety of management positions in both Private Hospitals and Residential Aged Care Facilities and currently has a number of Board appointments.

Sue has had a high profile in the areas of Australian Council on Healthcare Standards Accreditation Program, Quality Assurance and education as well as being a nursing surveyor with the Australian Council of Health Care Standards for 10 years. Sue is the author of the “Macri Report” and has convened and chaired an expert panel for the Department of Human Services and Health, to examine how to bring together resident classification, documentation practices and professional care planning and documentation in the industry.

Sue is a member of the College of Nursing, Australia, Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of The College of Nursing (incorporating The NSW College of Nursing).

In 2001 Sue was appointed to the Education & Health Ministers National Review on Nursing Education, which handed down its report in August 2002. Sue has delivered papers in international forums and in 2002 was part of a consortium, which delivered a number of seminars across India to Doctors, Lawyers, financiers and prominent citizens on the Aged care framework in Australia. In 2003 Sue was appointed to the Ministerial Taskforce (National Nursing and Nursing Education Taskforce), which has been established to implement the recommendations from the National Review of Nursing Education.
