The Victoria’s Vulnerable Children – Our Shared Responsibility strategy was released on 3 May 2013 by Minister for Community Services Mary Wooldridge.

The strategy emphasises a shared responsibility across government, the service sector and the community to improve outcomes for vulnerable children. It provides a set of goals, key outcomes and indicators that aim to reduce the incidence of vulnerability.

The strategy draws together all parts of government that have a responsibility for the health, social and economic factors that can make someone vulnerable and potentially lead to child abuse and neglect. It is designed to drive the broad-based change required across government and in the community over the next decade.

The strategy follows on from the work carried out as part of the Victoria’s Vulnerable Children – Our Shared Responsibility Directions Paper released in May 2012 following the Protecting Victoria’s Vulnerable Children Inquiry.

The first in a series of implementation bulletins has also been released to provide an update on key programs and initiatives to improve the lives of Victoria’s vulnerable children.

The Victoria’s Vulnerable Children – Our Shared Responsibility strategy is available to download on this site.
