The role of the Chronic Disease Prevention Unit is to promote health and reduce the burden of chronic disease in the Victorian population through developing and supporting government policy and related processes. The Unit aims to promote and advocate for action on the determinants of health though legislation, regulation, policy development and implementation, as well as reduce individual and population risk factors for disease through designing, delivering and advocating for evidence-based preventive interventions.
