Short course: Qualitative research - an essential tool in primary care research

This course aims to address:
- what is primary care qualitative research?
- how is a qualitative research study designed?
- data collection in qualitative primary care research
- data analysis in qualitative primary care research
- the use of software versus theory in qualitative analysis (optional extra day).
On completion of this course participants will be able to:
- describe the key approaches and methods of qualitative primary care research
- explain ethical considerations in design and application of methods
- be familiar with a range of analytical methods and theories for analysis
- understand differences in qualitative software programs
- apply a theory of analysis to an example of qualitative research.
