Seminar: 'Healthy living for immigrant and refugee women'

The seminar covers many topics including: the relationship between nutrition, good diet, physical activity and environment and healthy living; major issues affecting immigrant and refugee women¿s health such as diabetes and obesity; raising health awareness among immigrant and refugee women in a culturally sensitive manner; and an overview of related resources. Women from different communities sharing their healthy living experiences will be a seminar highlight.
Guest Speakers: Dr Regina Quiazon, Diabetes Education Project Officer and Research Associate for the Institute for Community Engagement and Policy Alternatives at Victoria University and Carolyn Poljski, Project Officer.
Date: 9.00am to 2.00pm, Thursday 27 August 2009.
Venue: Multicultural Centre for Women¿s Health.
Cost: $65.00 per person includes lunch.
