What: The Primary Health Branch has commenced lunch time seminars showcasing local integrated health promotion (IHP) work. The seminars will be available for viewing online, which is especially useful for rural and regional folk who are unable to attend. Sessions are held every two months, each with a different theme.
- Seminar 1: Physical activity and active communities was held in May and is now available for viewing on-line.
- Seminar 2: Mental health and wellbeing was held on Wednesday 17 June.
- Seminar 3: Equity is scheduled for Thursday 20 August 2009 at 50 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.
- Government representatives and agencies interested, or engaged in, health promotion.
- To develop a greater understanding of health promotion and how it improves the health and wellbeing of Victorians (particularly disadvantaged and hard to reach populations).
- To discover the impacts achieved through investment in Community and Women's Health and Primary Care Partnerships health promotion work.
- To gain knowledge about primary and secondary prevention as well as disease management and tertiary prevention.
The two new case studies presented in Seminar 2: Mental health and wellbeing are now available online. The DVD streaming of the seminar presentations will be available shortly.
