Community health priority tools

In 2008, the Branch commissioned Australian Healthcare Associates to evaluate the pilot of the community health demand management priority tools. These tools were developed as part of ‘Towards a demand management framework for community health services’, which was published in January 2008.
The evaluators concluded that there was high acceptability of the tools and that there was no barrier to a state-wide rollout, subject to a few changes to specific items.
To assist agencies with this requirement, the Primary Health Branch will provide half day training and information sessions in each region on the use of priority tools and the broader framework in which they sit. Dates and further details for these sessions will be advised.
