Overview
The Office of Director, Statewide Quality Branch provides overall coordination of branch operations and administration, along with specific project management in the areas of branch communications, stakeholder engagement and hospital resilience planning.
Special project
The Incident Information System (IIS) Project is a collaborative project between the department, Victorian health services and other key stakeholder groups, to determine an optimal solution for collection and review of statewide incident information.
The IIS will deliver an incident reporting data set and taxonomy for use by all publicly funded health services. The statewide incident data will be used to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the type, frequency and severity of incidents. Importantly, data regarding contributing and preventative factors will be analysed and lessons learnt will be shared, so that quality improvement initiatives can be targeted where required.
