Manager: Steven McConchie
Enquiries: Tel (61 3) 9096 9055
The Clinical Information and Knowledge Management Unit (CIKM) works to ensure that there are appropriate collection processes and systems in place to provide meaningful information that will support the Statewide Quality Branch (SQB) in achieving its outcomes. This work involves analysis of clinical performance and support of the health sector in implementing evidence based practice.
This includes:
- funding and provision of clinical data sources such as registries
- monitoring and development of clinical indicators
- provision of the Clinicians Health Channel and
- support of a clinical guidelines approach.
Working collaboratively with the SQB units and other program areas the CIKM will enhance the capacity of health services, the Department of Human Services and SQB to identify both outstanding practice and areas of concern in clinical performance. This will ensure that responses can be targeted to achieve the greatest benefit.
