Funding and Financial Policy
Funding and Financial Policy provides input to the relevant program areas (particularly MHACS Division) on the development and implementation of funding and financial policy as it affects rural and regional health services, provides advice to regions on funding and financial policy, and works closely with regions to develop strategies to address funding and viability issues. The unit is also responsible for managing policy in relation to the Victorian Patient Travel Assistance Scheme (VPTAS).

Budget Management and Reporting
The Budget Management and Reporting Unit monitors the financial performance of rural and regional health services, initiates, supports and conducts agency-level analysis of current performance to assist agencies to develop financial management plans, supports the sector to achieve system-wide performance improvement, and provides advice to the executive and other program areas on agencies’ performance and viability.
