Overview
The Rural Health Branch works collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders including other areas of the Department of Human Services and the Commonwealth Government to achieve:
- accessible, effective health services for all rural Victorians greater understanding and consideration of rural health issues in policy formulation and decision-making
- a stable and viable rural health service system that supports and encourages flexible health service models.
The branch provides policy advice to the Minister and other areas of the department on rural and regional health policy issues, manages a range of rural health projects, and leads service and facility development and planning for rural health.
