The function of the Environmental Health Unit is to identify, assess and manage the public health risks associated with environmental factors arising from air, land or water as well as radiation and other poisonous substances. This is achieved through administration of regulatory, statutory and policy functions, risk assessments and research, raising community and stakeholder awareness and knowledge, and building capacity and capabilities of stakeholders to facilitate effective risk management.
