This unit leads, coordinates and supports the development of strategies which strengthen the primary health system. It has a focus on:

  • Developing the service system to better deliver against primary health objectives
  • Supporting the development and exploration of relevant research and evidence 
  • Coordinating and supporting relevant internal and external communication strategies to promote primary health 
  • Leading and supporting the development of integrated planning as related to resource allocation models and service mix to promote and support the primary health sector
  • Leading and supporting programs which influence workforce supply, distribution and utilisation in the primary health sector.
