Our role
The Health Web Communications Unit is responsible for all online publishing within the Rural and Regional Health and Aged Care Services (RRHACS) Division, Metropolitan Health and Aged Care Services Division (MHACS), and Mental Health and Drugs (MHD) Division's Policy and Planning Branch and Drugs and Poisons Unit, including:
- Better Health Channel
- Victorian Government Health web site
- online publishing
- web development and management
- content management
- content management strategy
About the Better Health Channel
The Better Health Channel was established in May 1999 by the Victorian (Australia) Government. Its role is to provide the community with access to online health related information which is:
- quality assured
- reliable
- up-to-date
- locally relevant

Web Services
The Web Services Group was established in April 2003. The Director of Planning and Resources chairs this group. It oversees the development of the corporate planning structure for web and electronic services within the Division as well as facilitating a whole-of-health approach to online publishing across the Department.
