Children, Youth & Families

The Children, Youth & Families Division plays a key role in the planning and provision of services to Victorian children and their families. Services broadly include Juvenile Justice and Youth (juvenile justice and youth services) and Child Safety & Family (adoption, child protection, out-of-home care, family violence, sexual assault).

Disability Services Division

The Disability Services Division provides and funds a range of services for people with intellectual, physical, sensory and neurological disabilities and acquired brain injury.
The Division works in partnership with families and carers and with both non-government and government service providers to advance the well-being and promote the quality of life of people with disabilities.

Financial and Corporate Services Division

Mental Health and Drugs Division

The Mental Health and Drugs Division is a new division within DHS. It is comprised of the Mental Health and Drugs Policy Branches, and its functions encompass public sector policy, program, and service and workforce development in relation to mental health and drug matters.

Metro Health and Aged Care Services Division

Office of Housing

The Office of Housing provides and manages a range of housing and homelessness assistance programs including direct tenure public rental housing, community managed housing, crisis and transitional accommodation and support, financial assistance to people in the private rental sector and home ownership assistance.

Operations Division

Operations Division manages day-to-day operational issues in regions and youth justice centres. It also has responsibility for state emergency recovery, human resources and provision of a range of specialist support services to the ministers and department.

Portfolio Services and Strategic Projects Division

Portfolio Services and Strategic Projects Division provides a cross program focus for research, policy analysis and strategic planning to support the Departmental Executive in determining portfolio priorities to ensure that they are delivered in a coordinated and collaborative manner. The Division has central office responsibility for development of strategic priorities and policy direction for DHS.
