Engagement of Stakeholders

Throughout the Flexible Funding project, stakeholders were involved formally through the Steering Committee, the DHS and the Sector Advisory Committees, consultation meetings with programs and regional staff and, informally, through the Flexible Funding website and phone and email contact with the project team.

Engagement of stakeholders will continue as Flexible Funding is implemented more broadly through:

• An invitation to use DHS funding flexibly from the Secretary to the sector
• Information sessions for DHS staff and the sector
• Attendance at meetings of peak bodies and other sector forums on request
• Flexible Funding website
• The Flexibility Brokers
• DHS Flexible Funding Advisory Panel.

Flexible Funding Forum, November 2005

A forum was held in late November to bring together the Flexible Funding pilot agencies and key stakeholders. The forum provided an opportunity for discussion of the pilots' experiences and achievements. The principal outcome of the Flexible Funding project was a feature of the discussion: the development of a system that uses established processes to support broader implementation of flexible approaches to improve service delivery to clients.
