Grampians Region
The Grampians Region is one of eight Department of Human Services regions, and covers the area from Bacchus Marsh in the east to the South Australian border in the west, and from Patchewollock in the north to Lake Bolac in the south.
The Grampians Region covers an area of 47,980 square kilometres and includes eleven local government areas; these are the Shires of Golden Plains, Yarriambiack, Pyrenees, Northern Grampians, West Wimmera, Moorabool, Hindmarsh and Hepburn, the Rural Cities of Horsham and Ararat, and the City of Ballarat.
The Department of Human Services Grampians Region delivers services to approximately 216,000 people who live in the region. The Grampians Region population is concentrated in the east of the region, with more than half of the 216,000 people living in Ballarat and Bacchus Marsh.
Our main office is at Ballarat and we also have offices at Horsham, Ararat and Stawell.
The services we deliver include disability, child protection, youth justice and housing services. We also work closely with our partners in local government, health and community organisations in providing health and aged care services, family and community strengthening activities for people who reside in the region. In delivering these services we aim to enhance and protect the health and well-being of all Victorians, emphasising vulnerable groups and those most in need.
