Evaluation
During the first three years of operation KPMG was engaged to complete an evaluation of MACNI.
The key questions to be answered by the evaluation were:
- Is MACNI leading to better outcomes for individuals with multiple and complex needs?
- Is the service system more coordinated in its planning and provision for individuals with multiple and complex needs?
- Is the legislation adequate to achieve improved service coordination and individual outcomes for people with multiple and complex needs?
- Is MACNI providing cost benefit in relation to service provision for individuals with multiple and complex needs?
The collection of KPMG evaluation reports can be accessed in the References and Reports section of this website.
In addition to the KPMG evaluation, a snapshot study was conducted in 2008 by the MACNI central team. This study explored the outcomes for 19 individuals whose care plans had terminated at the time of the research. The results of the study showed improvements in stability of accommodation, health and well-being, social connectedness and safety for the majority of the 19. The study report can be accessed in the References and Reports section of the website.
