What kinds of careers are there?
If you are interested in working with people, then you may wish to pursue a career in one of our direct care programs. This kind of work takes place in a variety of community based settings such as youth justice centres, people's homes and residential facilities. In a lot of cases you will work as part of a dynamic team and with people from a number of different services and organisations.
The delivery of human services also needs people to plan and advise on health, housing and community service programs. You may also been keen to help build the systems and supports that enable us to meet our business objectives.

The employment streams below are predominantly situated in our regional areas, however, our head office area also provides exciting career opportunities.
The department provides services directly and in partnership with funded agencies.

The department advertises each week in the major press as well as regional and local newspapers. The main advertisements appear in our block ad section usually situated on page 3 in the Careers section of the Saturday edition of the Age.
