Important information: Changes to the job application process
From 1 October 2009 candidates applying for roles with the Department of Human Services are generally required to submit an application form, a cover letter and an updated resume. For most jobs, candidates will no longer be required to address each of the key selection criteria separately in a written document. This will save candidates time during the application process. Reinvent Your Career Expo
The department participated at the 2009 Melbourne Reinvent Your Career Expo at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on 11th & 12th July 2009. This is Australia's first major career expo for adults and exposed the department's work to thousands of individuals from those who are job ready, to those looking for a complete career change!

Careers expo
The department was well represented at Australia's largest national careers and employment event held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on 27th and 28th March 2009. The National Careers & Employment Expo brought together careers, employment and training opportunities to the public by connecting organisations with thousands of career minded individuals.
