Child, Youth And Mothers' HealthWork ProgramThe work program to address the public health issues in the Strategic Framework will be aligned to the activities of the Child Health and Wellbeing Reform Agenda Working Group, a subcommittee of the Australian Health Ministers’ Advisory Council (AHMAC). To improve the health of children and youth, the NPHP will also identify opportunities to work with other programs in the NPHP to address healthy weight issues, work with key research organisations to maintain a high quality evidence-base for child and youth health, and work on the development of child health indicators. The work program targeting children and youth has a dedicated focus on six key areas: • Oversighting implementation of the National Public Health Strategic Framework for Children; • Networking and Joint Planning with research organisations; • Seeking opportunities to inform key stakeholders on the work of the NPHP; • Working with the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare on the development of child health indicators; • Developing partnerships and working relationships with key agencies and child health groups; • Identifying opportunities for child health interventions especially childhood obesity and chronic diseases and ante/post natal maternal and child health. |
