Garden tours aid womens crisis service
The Womens Domestic Violence Crisis Service Victoria will
benefit from proceeds of a tour of landscaped gardens in the City
of Booroodara.
The Gardens with Style tour will take in properties in Hawthorn,
Camberwell, Canterbury, Balwyn and Ivanhoe on Sunday, October 13
between 10a.m. and 4p.m.
The gardens were landscaped by David Kirkpatrick, who has been
working in horticulture and designing gardens for 28 years.
While working as curator of the gardens at the University of Melbourne,
David set up a sculpture park in the area of land then owned by
John and Sunday Reidnow Heide Park and Art Gallery.
The Womens Domestic Violence Crisis Service Victoria is Melbournes
only 24-hour refuge and referral service for women and children
fleeing domestic violence.
Cost of the Gardens with Style tours is $5
for one garden or $20 for eight gardens. For more information call
