Short courses for health professionals

Monash Institute of Health Services Research will host a one-day, interactive Pushing the Envelope in Primary Care workshop.

The workshop, to be held on Wednesday, October 16, will launch the Institute’s Chris Silagy Master Class Series.

Keynote speaker will be Dr Tim Wilson, Director of Quality at the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK).

The workshop has been endorsed by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and will also feature a panel of national speakers.

Professor Chris Silagy, Foundation Director of the Institute until his death from cancer aged 41, was an internationally renowned GP researcher and leading figure in the evidence-based medicine movement.

The Institute has also developed a series of short courses during October as part of its spring education program for health professionals.

The sessions will include introductions to systematic reviews, evidence-based healthcare and change in healthcare organisations, the basics of health economics, grant and submission writing and research methods and design.
