Short courses for health professionals
Monash Institute of Health Services Research will host a one-day,
interactive Pushing the Envelope in Primary Care workshop.
The workshop, to be held on Wednesday, October 16, will launch
the Institutes Chris Silagy Master Class Series.
Keynote speaker will be Dr Tim Wilson, Director of Quality at the
Royal College of General Practitioners (UK).
The workshop has been endorsed by the Royal Australian College
of General Practitioners (RACGP) and will also feature a panel of
national speakers.
Professor Chris Silagy, Foundation Director of the Institute until
his death from cancer aged 41, was an internationally renowned GP
researcher and leading figure in the evidence-based medicine movement.
The Institute has also developed a series of short courses during
October as part of its spring education program for health professionals.
The sessions will include introductions to systematic reviews,
evidence-based healthcare and change in healthcare organisations,
the basics of health economics, grant and submission writing and
research methods and design.
