Conference call on drugs and alcohol
The Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and Other Drugs
(APSAD) conference will follow a Science, Practice and Experience
theme.
The conference will be held at Hilton on the Park, Melbourne, between
November 6 and 9.
It will follow the National Drug Trends Conference on Friday, November
4 and include the Reckitt Benckiser Buprenorphine Symposium on Sunday,
November 6.
The APSAD conference targets drug and alcohol workers, researchers,
health and other professionals with an interest in the drug and
alcohol field, recent PhD, Masters and Honours graduates, individuals
and organisations representing consumers.
The theme will be represented through the choice of keynote speakers,
the symposia and the abstract-driven sessions.
APSAD is dedicated to raising awareness about the problems related
to the use of alcohol and other drugs and promoting improved standards
in clinical practice and research into this and allied subjects.
Conference Chair Associate Professor Alison Ritter, Head of Research
at Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre, is calling for abstracts
and expressions of interest in holding satellite meetings, workshops
and launches during the conference.
Abstracts should be 300 words for papers that outline new research
findings, evaluations, policy analyses or practice experience.
These can be in any area of alcohol or drug endeavour.
