Tandem cyclists promote stroke awareness
|

Ross and Ann Pearson with Dr Peter New during their visit
to Kingston Centre to promote stroke awareness.
|
Staff and stroke survivors at Kingston Centre were inspired by
a visit from Ross and Ann Pearson, ambassadors for the National
Stroke Foundation, who are currently cycling a tandem bicycle around
Australia.
Ross suffered a life-threatening brain haemorrhage in 2001, leaving
him initially unable to walk, talk or read.
During their journey, they are visiting local hospitals and community
groups to raise awareness of stroke.
Ross stroke could have been avoided if he and Ann had better
understood the causes and signs of stroke and their objective is
to help others avoid what they have been through.
They also want to give hope to stroke survivors to give them hope
about what the future may hold.
