Coburg site for apartments

A former nursing home in Munro Street, Coburg, will be extensively refurbished to provide 35 modern apartments for single people on low incomes.

The Government will invest $2.8 million towards the purchase and refurbishment of the two-storey building to provide 35 apartments with private facilities and communal areas.

The project is funded through a $40 million allocation to provide more than 270 new affordable homes across Victoria.

Refurbishment of the site, which is close to transport, shops and employment opportunities, will begin later in 2005.
