Landmark draws attention to Yooralla Week
|

The banner across the face of Flinders Street Station heralds
Why Yooralla Week?.
|
A banner across the clocks at Flinders Street Station drew public
attention to Why Yooralla Week? last month.
Why Yooralla Week? educates Victorians about what Yooralla
does and who it helps.
Why Yooralla Week? posters decorated Yarra Trams low floor
accessible trams and an exhibition at the Melbourne Town Hall showcased
art produced by Yoorallas clients.
Yooralla is in its 86th year of helping Victorians living with
a disability acquired from birth, accident, ill health or age.
Almost one in every five Victorians lives with a disability of
some kind.
Yooralla helps around 30,000 of these Victorians with disabilities
every year, many on a daily basis.
It offers pre-school, school-aged and adult therapy services, residential
accommodation, respite in and out-of-home, equipment, advocacy,
employment and recreation services.
The aim in all Yooralla programs is to help people with disabilities
and their families to determine their goals, achieve them or take
important steps toward achieving them.
