Dr David Hillis has taken up his position as Chief Executive Officer of Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute.

Dr Hillis’ background includes 10 years clinical experience as a GP in the Latrobe Valley and senior management positions at Latrobe Valley Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Western Hospital and Peninsula Health.

He has been responsible in all these positions for strategic planning, quantification of quality improvement and for leading organisational, cultural and structural change.

Dr Hillis holds Fellowships from the Australian Colleges of General Practice, Medical Administration, Health Service Executives and The Institute of Company Directors.

‘I am delighted to be Chief Executive Officer of Peter Mac at such a vibrant time because the diagnostic, treatment and research capabilities will make substantial progress over the next 10 years,’ Dr Hillis said.
