Internationally-recognised leader of the patient
safety movement, Harvard University Adjunct Professor Lucian L.
Leape, will be keynote speaker at the 4th Australasian Conference
on Safety and Quality in Healthcare.
The Raising the Bar for Quality
conference will be held in Melbourne between August 21 and 23.
It will be the fourth
in a series of highly-successful gatherings of clinicians and
health care managers dedicated to improving patient safety and
health care and quality in Australasia.
Australasian Association
for Quality in Health Care (AAQHC) President Christine Dennis
said Dr Leape's experience and commitment to patient safety and
determination to change things for the better in health care gave
him an unequalled position in the field.
The AAQHC is co-hosting
the conference with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards
(ACHS) and collaborating with key partners the Australian Commission
on Safety and Quality in Health Care and the Department of Human
Services.
