Hospital marks Nurses Week with presentation of award
Mark Fairbairn has received Latrobe Regional Hospital Chief Nursing
Officers Award for Professional Excellence.
Mr Fairbairn works with older people with mental health problems
in the hospitals Macalister Unit.
Mr Fairbairn first visited Latrobe Regional Hospital as part of
his nurse student placement in 2002 and decided he wanted to return
after graduating.
Mr Fairbairn said he enjoyed nursing because he liked people.
There is no better feeling than watching someone leave your
ward in a much better condition than when they arrived and knowing
you played a parthowever smallin their recovery.
Chief Nursing Officer Debra Cerasa presented Mr Fairbairns
award during International Nurses and Midwives Week.
