June 2002 New day dawns for Mercy mums
Mother’s Day was a cause for double celebration for mother of Oliver, Jacqui McGregor. It was also International Nurses Day and Jacqui, a Mercy Hospital for Women nurse was on hand during the first concrete pour for foundations for the $325 million construction site at the Austin Hospital. The Austin Hospital project will include the relocated Mercy Hospital for Women with 106 beds, 62 neonatal cots, 17 delivery rooms and four operating theatres. As well as overseeing the concrete pour, Minister for Health John Thwaites presented Jacqui—representing nurses and mothers—with flowers. Jacqui was joined by Mercy Health and Aged Care Director Sr Helen Monkivitch, a former nurse. |
