The Royal Melbourne Hospital Urology Department will host the 7th National Prostate Cancer Symposium on August 10 and 11.

The symposium will address clinical issues in contemporary cancer management, including a live robotic prostectomy by Professor Thomas Ahlering, Director of Urologic Oncology at University of California, Irvine, video-linked from the Epworth Hospital.

Other international guest speakers will include:

•          Professor of Urology at Johns Hopkins Medical Institution, Baltimore, Maryland, Patrick Walsh;

•          Professor J. Smith, Chair of Urology at the Vanderbilt University Medical Centre, Nashville, Tennessee;

•          The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Department of Quantitative Health Sciences Chair Professor Michael Kattan;

•          Professor Culley Carson, Editor of Contemporary Urology and Chair of Urology, Division of Urologic Surgery, University of North Carolina;

•          Professor Tia Higano, Genitourinary Oncology Clinical Research Group Director and Departments of Medicine and Urology Associate Professor, Seattle.

National speakers will be Dr Helen O'Connell from the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Dr Donald Moss from Ballarat Base Hospital.
