Kyabram and District Health Services (KDHS) celebrated
National Volunteers Week with afternoon tea in appreciation for
the work of its many volunteers.
The volunteers were
recognised with a certificate of appreciation and a gift pack
containing products supplied by local businesses.
KDHS volunteers vary
in age and experience in different health areas and comprise groups
and individuals.
KDHS provides a wide
range of community health programs from the Pat Hayes Centre in
Kyabram and the Stanhope Community Health Centre.
The services include
asthma and diabetes education, other health promotion, early childhood
intervention services, respite care, speech and occupational therapy,
physiotherapy, community health nursing, family support, immunisation,
social work and general counselling and a well women's clinic.
Its programs include
parenting, living with cancer and anger management programs as
well as specific health promotion programs for community groups,
schools and workplaces.
Its visiting team
provides podiatry, dietitian, occupational therapy and physiotherapy
services.
KDHS services the
southern sector of the Shire of Campaspe including the towns of
Tongala, Kyabram, Girgarre, Stanhope, Rushworth and Colbinabbin.
