The Other Film Festival 2006 will present
a strong and diverse program of Australian and international films
including new works by filmmakers with a disability.
The festival, with
and about people with a disability, will be held at Melbourne
Museum's Age Theatre from August 25 to 27.
The weekend will
also feature interviews, forums and professional development opportunities
for filmmakers.
The Other Film
Festival offers an unprecedented level of accessibility for
patrons with a disability, including captioning, audio description,
sign interpreting and other access services.
Academy Award winning
animator Adam Elliott will serve as patron for The Other Film
Festival for the second time, following a successful 2004
festival.
The festival is a
major project of Arts Access Victoria and is supported by the
City of Melbourne, Film Victoria, the Australian Film Commission,
Melbourne Museum, the Department of Human Services, Blythe-Sanderson
Disability Management and Media Access Australia.
