The Victorian Council of Social Service (VCOSS) 60th anniversary conference aims to bring together lessons from the development of the community sector in Victoria and address contemporary policy and practice challenges posed from outside, inside and across the sector.

The Strong Foundations—Working for a Fairer Future conference will be held at the RACV Club Conference Centre, 501 Bourke Street, Melbourne on August 3 and 4.

Topics will be:

•          Every child, every chance—supporting happy, healthy children;

•          Health and equity—achieving improved health outcomes for all Victorians;

•          Who's carrying the can—achieving integrated youth support services;

•          Indigenous communitie—linking-up, supporting and collaborating to achieve improved outcomes;

•          Greening the debate—integrating environmental and social imperatives in housing, utilities and transport;

•          Human rights—insiders and outsiders;

•          Beyond the Commonwealth State Housing Agreement—affordable housing futures;

•          Peaks and networks—sustaining the sector through collaborative advocacy;

•          Barriers and brick walls—State accessibility regulations, people with disabilities and welfare to work.
