beyondblue wins website award

beyondblue’s website has been named the most popular in the Health and Medical—Organisations category in the Hitwise Online Performance Awards for 2007.

The annual Hitwise Awards recognise excellence in online performance through public popularity, awarding websites in over 100 industries.

Results are based on the internet usage of more than three million Australian internet visitors to more than 134,000 Australian websites with winners receiving the most visits throughout 2007.

‘There were more than 1.6 million visitors to our website last year,’ said beyondblue Chief Executive Officer Leonie Young.

‘Since the site went live in 2001 there have been more than five million visitors.

‘To have so many people using our website for information on depression, anxiety and related drug and alcohol problems is fantastic,’ Ms Young said.

‘It reflects increased interest in beyondblue’s work and it’s good to know that people rely on us for accurate information about depression and related issues.

‘We’re delighted to receive this Hitwise Award and will continue to provide people with the information they need, in the format they need, wherever they are in Australia.’

‘With the dynamics of online marketing continually evolving, the online success of beyondblue during 2007 is an incredible achievement,’ said Hitwise General Manager of Competitive Intelligence and Search Marketing Services Michael Walmsley.
