Rural health conference
Chronic disease will be a focus
of the 2008 Rural Health Conference to be held in Bendigo between April 30 and
May 2.
Topics will include:
• The role
of health services in health promotion and the prevention of chronic disease;
• How to
respond to chronic disease as a coordinated health system;
• Workforce
implications of chronic disease prevention and management.
Keynote speakers will include:
• The
University of Dundee’s Professor Andrew Morris;
• The
University of Melbourne’s Professor Kerin O’Dea;
• Director
of the Health Department of Western Australia’s Office of Public Health
Genomics Adjunct Professor Peter O’Leary.
The conference will be hosted by
the Department of Human Services.
