National awards for parenting
website
The Centre for Community Child
Health has been recognised with four prestigious national awards for online
content and education.
The NetGuide Awards recognised
the Raising Children Network consortium for Best Parenting Website and Website
of the Year from a field of 7,000.
The Australian Media Industry
Awards (AMIA) named www.raisingchildren.net.au as Best Non-Profit or Government Website.
And the Raising Children DVD was
awarded Best Learning and Education Resource.
www.raisingchildren.net.au, a
project in partnership with the Smart Population Foundation and the
Parenting Research Centre, is
the leading online resource for reliable, research-based parenting information
in Australia.
With an emphasis on both quality
assurance and usability, the website has had four million visitors since its
launch in 2006.
The Centre for Community Child
Health (CCCH) at the Royal Children’s Hospital is a key research centre of the
Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.
One of the primary goals of the
centre is the use of research to inform parents and the broader community about
important issues surrounding child development.
The Raising Children Network has
proven a fundamental tool in reaching this goal, providing easy to understand,
interactive access to essential information for all parents.
The Raising Children DVD is
available free to all Australian families on the birth of their baby via the
New Parent Pack.
