Artists invited to submit their work
Users of Victorian mental health services have been invited to
enter the 2005 Mental Health Week Consumer Art Competition.
Entries for the competition can be of various mediumspaintings,
drawings, pastels, mosaics and computerised images.
The work must be appropriate for reproduction as an A2 posterthe
competition-winning piece of work will become the poster that promotes
Mental Health Week.
The winner will receive a prize of $500, a framed copy of the piecepresented
at the launch of Mental Health Week in Octoberand extensive
exposure of the work.
RMIT University Visual Arts Department will judge 2005 competition.
Mental Health Week is a program of the Mental Health Foundation
of Australia (Victoria) to promote mental health and wellbeing,
prevent mental illness and remove the stigma associated with mental
illness.
The Mental Health Foundation of Australia (Victoria) is an association
of committed individuals, comprising carers of people with a mental
health problem, people with experience of mental health problems,
mental health professionals from a broad range of disciplines and
people interested in promoting awareness of mental health.
