Seminar on gambling

A multicultural conference aims to address problem gambling issues within culturally-diverse communities and to facilitate links between services.

The United in Diversity conference, organised by the Gambler’s Help Services Multicultural Interest Group, will be held at Holmesglen Conference Centre in Chadstone on May 18.

The conference aims to:

• Foster a better understanding of cultural issues;

• Explore alternative models of practice within culturally-diverse communities;

• Fortify links and build on commonality of different cultures;

• Provide an opportunity for individuals, service providers and the community to develop strategies around problem gambling.

Gambler’s Help Services is a specialist provider of professional counselling, support, advice and information to people with problems arising from gambling.

It is a State Government initiative funded through the Community Support Fund.
