Licence types

The following licences and approvals are available.  Click on the links below to direct you to the particular licence page for more information and application forms.

• A management licence for those who wish to conduct a radiation practice such as possessing, selling or disposing of a radiation source. These licences are typically held by a company but can also be issued to individuals.
• A use licence for those individuals who wish to use a radiation source. These are only issued to 'natural persons' as opposed to companies.
• Approved testers. These are approvals to individuals who wish to be able to issue certificate of compliance indicating that a prescribed radiation source meets radiation safety standards.

Declarations & exemptions

There are some exemptions that have been made by the Secretary of the Department to exempt persons from some licensing requirements in certain circumstances.
