Car washesPage content: What action should you take? | Download document In response to 7 cases of Legionnaires' disease being linked to a car wash and following consultation with the car wash industry, the Department of Human Services Public Health Branch has issued important information to car wash owners. What action should you take?If you currently store warm water in your car wash system you need to: Cease the practice immediately until longer term options can be taken OR Consult a water treatment specialist to discuss methods of disinfecting the warm water to comply with the regulations Please download a copy of the letter sent to car wash owners. It explains:
Car wash systems are covered by the Health (Legionella) Regulations 2001. These regulations can be viewed at www.legislation.vic.gov.au. Go to the Victorian law today section and search for Health (Legionella) Regulations 2001. You can also obtain further information from the Australian Car Wash Association. Download document
