Community Housing Allocations Framework for the Victorian Housing Register

The Community Housing Allocations Framework for the Victorian Housing Register is available for public comment until 15 September.

It’s part of the Victorian Government’s work to provide more housing for those in the greatest need. The Victorian Housing Register will help people most in need get into the right houses quickly, by bringing together public and community housing applications.

The community housing sector is encouraged to consider how the draft Framework will affect it and to submit comments on what works well and what could be improved.

New funding for social housing initiatives under Homes for Victorians will be available to community housing organisations that join the Victorian Housing Register and allocate 75 per cent of their vacancies to the most disadvantaged Victorians.

The framework provides the rules for meeting the 75 percent target, and for measuring and reporting annual performance against the target.

The draft Framework should be read in conjunction with the accompanying information sheet and Q&As provided below. They provide further information on how the Framework and the Victorian Housing Register will work in practice.
