Reporting and monitoring

Disability service providers should annually self-assess against the Standards for Disability Services in Victoria.

Independent monitoring

Statewide application of independent monitoring of disability service providers commenced in March 2010. Disability service providers can now engage a certification body to conduct their certification audit.

All disability service providers are required to undertake a certification audit by 30 June 2012, and be certified compliant by 31 December 2012.

Register of disability service providers

The register of disability service providers identifies the organisations which are required to provide disability services in compliance with the Disability Act 2006. Find out about registration requirements, how to renew your registration, the registration of disability service providers policy and periods of registration.

What happened to Integrated Quality Management Approach (IQMA) reporting?

With the introduction of independent monitoring, Integrated Quality Management Approach (IQMA) reporting has ceased. Disability service providers are no longer required to prepare and submit IQMA activity reports.

Information from IQMA activity reports for previous years has been compiled and analysed. These reports are available on the Reporting requirements for service providers webpage. The IQMA summary and compilation of organisational quality plan and improvement activity reports 2007-08 and 2008-09 will be available when published.

Information on individual organisational quality improvement activities is also published as a way of sharing information and experiences across the sector.

Consistent with good quality management principles, disability service providers will continue to self-assess against the Standards for Disability Services in Victoria, incorporating both Outcome Standards and Industry Standards, and prepare a quality plan at least annually. Disability service providers may use any self-assessment processes/templates that assist in assessing compliance with the Standards, and should include consumer assessment. The self-assessment documentation will be viewed in an organisation's independent monitoring audit.

The Quality Framework Resource Guide has information and tools to assist disability service providers in their self-assessment process.
