Child Protection Week
In 2016, National Child Protection Week will take place from Sunday 4 September to Saturday 10 September. Child Protection Week is an opportunity to recognise the important work of individuals and organisations who work with children, young people and their families.
For more than 20 years, the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) has coordinated the Play Your Part campaign during National Child Protection Week. The Play Your Part campaign seeks to increase awareness and understanding of the importance of primary prevention to reduce child harm and neglect in Australia, instilling the core principle that ‘protecting children is everyone’s business.’
Visit the NAPCAN website for further information about National Child Protection Week (external site opens in a new window).
In Victoria, the Department of Health & Human Services will officially launch Child Protection Week by hosting the 2016 Robin Clark Protecting Children Awards on Tuesday 6 September.
