Non-mains energy

The Non-Mains Energy Concession is an annual rebate for eligible cardholders who use LPG for domestic heating or cooking, and/or are individually metered for electricity but who pay a caravan park or accommodation proprietor. Applications open 1 July 2011 and close on 31 January 2012. The Department of Human Services may approve late applications.

Non-mains customers who use an alternate fuel such as diesel, petrol or heating oil as their main domestic energy source are also eligible for the annual electricity rebate.

The amount of the rebate depends on the annual amount of non-mains energy purchased and the rebate amount is increased annually in line with inflation.

The non-mains energy concession rebate amounts for 2011 are:

  • $42 rebate for eligible cardholders who spend from $100 to $236.99;
  • $125 rebate for eligible cardholders who spend from $237 to $711.99;
  • $208 rebate for eligible cardholders who spend from $712 to $1,184.99;
  • $297 rebate for eligible cardholders who spend $1,185 or more
