Sexual Assault Support Services

Sexual assault support services provide direct services for children, young people and adults who have experienced recent or past sexual assault. Services include crisis care responses, counselling, casework, group-work, advocacy and a statewide after-hours telephone crisis service. Agencies also provide community awareness, education and professional consultation services that work towards the prevention and early identification of sexual assault.

Who can use these services?

Services are available to women, girls, boys and men, who have experienced sexual assault either recently or in the past. Some services specialise in working with children. Non-offending family members and significant others are also able to access support.

What does it cost?

There are no fees for sexual assault services funded by the Department of Human Services.
