Victorian flood recovery - for business

The Department of Human Services coordinates a range of assistance from State Government and not for profit organisations for businesses in emergency recovery situations, such as those experienced following a flood.

The 2011 floods impacted businesses and agriculture heavily across the state. As a result, a range of commonwealth, state and local government agencies are working together to help with their recovery efforts.

Help available:

  • Financial support for business and agriculture in the form of grants and gifts that can assist with the task of cleaning up and rebuilding
  • Information for farmers to help retain apprentices, find financial counsellors and the flood recovery employment program
  • Advice and information on cleaning up after the floods or restoring the land
  • Information on insurance claims for damage caused by flooding
