Women as leaders

Women play a pivotal role as leaders in every community. Initiatives are in place to expand leadership opportunities for women across the community on councils, boards, committees and community groups, across metropolitan, rural and regional centres.

Leadership initiatives

  • Women's Governance Scholarship Program

    A joint initiative with the Victorian government and the Australian Institute of Company Directors is providing 34 women with training in corporate governance through the Company Directors’ Course.

  • Victorian Women's Register

    Victorian Women’s Register aims to ensure that women are equally represented and to encourage women to lead and become decision makers in the community.

  • Think Women for Local Government

    Regional forums are being held across Victoria for potential women candidates for upcoming Local Government elections.

  • Victorian Honour Roll of Women

    The Victorian Honour Roll of Women recognises and celebrates excellence and achievements of inspirational women in the community.
