Victorian Floods Disaster Relief Fund

The Victorian Floods Disaster Relief Fund was established on 17 January 2011 by the Victorian Government in partnership with the Australian Red Cross to help families, individuals and communities who have been affected by the 2011 Victorian floods.

These have been the worst floods to ever hit north and north-west Victoria and areas across south-east metropolitan Melbourne, they have caused widespread devastation to local communities and massive long term assistance will be required to help these communities recover and rebound. Victorians are encouraged to make any contribution they can by contacting the Red Cross Victorian Floods Appeal on 1800 811 700 or www.redcross.org.au

The independent Victorian Floods Disaster Relief Fund Panel, chaired by Ron Walker AC CBE and including a representative from the Red Cross, the Victorian Government and from flood affected communities, has been appointed to oversee the allocation of funds raised by the Red Cross Appeal.

The closing date for Applications has been extended until August 1 2011

The one-month extension has been put in place to assist people whose homes and household contents have been damaged or destroyed in the January and February floods by providing more time to apply.

Applications for the "Damage to House and Contents Gift"

If your home or contents have been damaged or destroyed during the January and February Victorian floods you may be eligible to receive a payment through the Victorian Floods Disaster Relief Fund.
